Our Trip to Pittsburgh

Tara and I went back to Pittsburgh for her birthday a couple of weeks back. It was a very short trip - we flew out early on Saturday morning and flew back at 7 am for work and school on Monday.

I proposed to her at dinner and, though it took her what felt like an eternity to figure out what I was doing, she did eventually say yes. It took a little help from her parents, but I did somehow manage to surprise her.

Dinner at Eleven was excellent -  I'd put it up there alongside some of the better NYC restaurants in food, decor and price. (Of course, I am a bit biased now).

I'll try to post more pictures of the weekend at some point.

Aside from such personal matters, we also went to the Steelers game against Kansas City. It was a great game - well, for Steeler fans - as the world champs got back to looking like world champs.

Heinz Field is a great place to see a football game. The stadium is right in downtown Pittsburgh - and if the Westside Stadium in NY was going to be anything like this, we are missing out. There was plenty of tailgating - it was one big party with the bars overflowing onto the streets.

This city truly bleeds black and gold. An interesting bit of trivia: Pittsburgh is, to my knowledge, the only city that has the same colors for all of its professional sports teams.

I mean, you have to love a city that idolizes Franco Harris and George Washington equally.

I love you, Tara!
