Dave posted some photos and a video from Monday's event. I was too busy looking at gadgets but I did manage to snap a few myself.
All in all, a great time. It was great (and a bit weird) to meet James, Kevin and Dave after being a long-time listener. Others in attendance included Dave Zatz and Joey Neal. (I don't have names for everyone - send me names and links and I'll update this post).
The only disappointing thing about the night was that I didn't find my new gadget. I was originally expecting that after leaving the event I would be ordering a Sony UX50, Samsung Q1, or DualCor cPc. Unfortunately, as cool as they all are, using them in the flesh confirmed for me that none are going to quite fill the right need for me. After adding EVDO to my m200, I realized I can't get another device without 3G connectivity. The Sony is the only device that has any built-in WWAN connectivity with its integrated EDGE, and I was definitely leaning in that direction before. The DualCor and Samsung both have limited external connectivity options right now, but it sounds like that will improve a bit.
So, for now, I'm holding off on a purchase.
