Perhaps I spoke to soon in that previous post. As it turns out, Verizon has given in and will allow use of EVDO devices as broadband modems through DUN. (Sadly, not over Bluetooth, at least until someone writes a driver to trick it into thinking it's USB).
Unless T-Mobile and Cingular get off their collective asses and roll out a real competitor to EVDO, this may make me reconsider my loyalty to the GSM providers. ( BroadbandConnect is not yet available in NYC yet - apparently the EDGE speeds here are not so great )
