The Gillette Fusion is a good step in my quest for the perfect shave

My skin is easily irritated, so I'm always looking for ways to upgrade my shaving experience.

The Mach3 was a big step forward from everything I used previously, and I've been using it religiously since. I've tried the Quattro, electrics, and others, but nothing was as good as the Mach3. The Mach3 Power was another improvement, although not as radical as the step up to M3.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for this stuff, but I've been waiting anxiously for Fusion, Gillette's follow up to the Mach3 series touting 5 blades (6 if you count the precision blade on the back). I thought it was supposed to be released (along with a marketing blitz) on Super Bowl Sunday, but it turns out CVS has it in stock already this past week.

After using it for a week, I'm happy with it. It's not revolutionary or anything, but I've definitely noticed less irritation.

My routine, if anyone cares:

  • Clean face in the shower with Philosophy Purity facial cleanser, applied with shaving brush
  • Apply Philosophy Razor Sharp shave gel with shaving brush
  • Shave with Fusion Power
  • Use
