Becoming very frustrated with Newsgator

I'm really becoming very frustrated with Newsgator Outlook Edition and specifically, the synchronization functionality added in version 2.5.

As I've mentioned previously, I have categorize my feeds into various sub-directories and use search folders to "roll up" a category. Newsgator, however, no longer remembers the new location, so the next time the feeds are updated it moves them back to the original location under the root directory.

I raised this early in the beta program and was constantly assured it would be fixed in the next version. Inevitably, the problem remained unresolved in each new version. I submitted a new case the other day and was told there would be a new version with this fix "today or tomorrow". Tomorrow is here, and despite several e-mails I still haven't heard from anyone.

I'm not the only one seeing this problem, and it's certainly annoying a lot of customers. So why wasn't it fixed earlier? It's not like they didn't know about it. Throughout the course of the beta program, I kept telling them this was a showstopper for me and at one point I even had to downgrade to 2.0. What's the point of a beta program if you aren't listening to your customers' problems?

Worse yet, I tried out the FeedDemon 1.6 beta and it moved almost all of my feeds to an Untitled folder. Of course, they're stuck there, because I can't move anything back until this issue is resolved.

My patience is really wearing thin. It's bad enough they want me to pay for functionality I don't really want in the first place - it's worse when that functionality doesn't even work right.

I may give Attensa a try, since they apparently understand that there are three different markets here. Or I might revisit intraVnews, which is once again free for personal use. At least I have options when my subscription runs out, because if this keeps up they sure aren't going to keep me as a customer.

Update: I just got an e-mail announcing a new service release for Newsgator. I'll give it a shot tonight and update the post accordingly.
