Shades of Gray?

I've said in my assessment of the Presidential Debate that Bush seems to view the world in black and white. Then Mowabb comes along with a great analogy that really drives this home.

We all know there’s a big difference between working with others and letting them tell you what to do. Since Bush became president, I’ve often felt the urge to compare political situations to playground etiquette. Here, Bush appears to see only two options for the U.S. on the global playground: we can either be the bully, or we’re going to get beat up. But history shows that there’s another option that has worked really, really well, and that is to hang out with a bunch of friends on the playground, standing together against the loner bullies and convincing them by example that they’re going to have more fun on the playground if they accept the rules that most everyone but them agrees on.

Shades of gray. Someone needs to explain that concept to our dear President.
