I've been meaning to write about music for awhile now. As I've said in the past, many of my favorite artists today were recommended to me over the years. By sharing what I'm listening to, I hope that others will both discover new music and make recommendations in return.
One of my favorite new albums is Keane's debut album, Hopes and Fears, released back in May. The obvious comparison is to Coldplay: they were discovered by the same indie label and certainly have a similar sound, though they substitute keyboards for guitars. The album is very solid - while some I like better than others, I really can't think of a song I dislike - and the production is excellent.
The current single, which you may have already heard or seen the video for, is Somewhere Only We Know. I think my favorite track is probably We Might As Well Be Strangers. Other notables include Bedshaped, This is the Last Time, and On a Day Like Today.
All in all, a great album that comes highly recommended. I'm definitely looking forward to future albums.
UPDATE: I noticed the other night that their lead single, Somewhere Only We Know, is currently featured in a new Victoria's Secret commercial.
