When it rains in NYC, navigating the city is a bit like a game of Frogger.
For those of you not familiar with the area, most people here (myself included) don't drive - most travel is done on the subway. Of course, you can take a cab - if you can actually get one. Plus, it's not really too feasible for me to take a cab to and from school at $20 each way.
Luckily, the city is full of temporary scaffolding, ledges, parking garages, underground walkways, and awnings. Getting from one place to another becomes a game, jumping from one of these 'safe havens' to another.
It was pouring today. It started out light this morning, but by the time I got out of class it was coming down very hard.
Let's just say, I don't think I won my game of Rain Frogger today. And if there was any doubt, my shoes did a very good job of reminding me.
