I've found this to be a great tool: SmartCapture. It may not have some of the fancy extras in HyperSnap-DX, but we all know sometimes the simplicity is the best feature.
All I want to do is hit Print Screen, select my capture range, and then save to an image. SmartCapture makes this very easy.
Honestly, it makes me wonder why the built-in Windows screen capture doesn't work like this. Maybe they just didn't feel like wiping out another niche market - or maybe it will come out of Steve Ballmer's single-image-editor mandate.
