I submitted two bugs a few weeks back on one of the Microsoft betas I'm on. Today, I got a message that both were closed as “unable to reproduce”.
That's disappointing. I assure you, the software is buggy enough that I can reproduce these issues on a fairly regular basis. I included fairly detailed repro scenarios (including the hardware I was using), and all I hear is that it's closed because it's not reproducible.
No one asked me for (additional) screenshots. No one asked me for memory dumps, or a reg shot, or anything like that. No one asked me for any further information at all.
So, really, what's the point of these betas? Is my feedback really listened to, or were these just fixed already in a subsequent release, as suggested in the comments below? Maybe this was something specific to my hardware, etc? Did I not submit specific enough details on the problem?
I wish someone followed up with me to get more information. I'm going to continue to submit bugs and try to participate in future betas, because I hope I can add some value and make the software I use better. But it's a shame that I'm left in this situation...
(Updated, of course).
