Scoble points to a number of Tablet PC events. He also links to the IBM tablet prototype that has been circulating over the past week (I mentioned it earlier in the week too).
Considering that the IBM is a favorite of many corporate customers, this is definitely a good thing for the platform.
I think these training things are a great thing. We evaluated them back when the machines were slow and expensive and, rightfully, decided that it wasn't worth it. The general perception is that it's 'cool' but it's doesn't add a lot of value yet. We should have decided that it wasn't worth it then, and re-evaluate it again in the future. Sadly, we haven't re-evaluated them yet.
I use my tablet in all day at work and class and constantly go out of my way to show how and why I use it. To really appreciate the value of the tablet pc, you have to use it. You have to get it in your hands, and not just sitting in the office with it. You have to use it on the train and the couch and so on.
Which makes me really question why New York City was not on the list for the tablet pc training...
