Apparently Eric Terrell, author of the C# Programmable Calculator, went off and started spamming everyone to link to his application.
A weblog is supposed to be about personal expression - not shameless advertising (which is even worse, since you're not even getting anything out of it). Are you that desperate to boost your post count that you'll post something like that verbatim? I wonder how many people who linked to this even downloaded it.
I will, but after trying it out, and I'm less than impressed.
First of all, it's a calculator. A fairly nice one comes with Windows, for most of the basic stuff I would ever need to do. It did what it said it does. Fact of the matter is, for a $20 registration fee, I would expect a much more polished application - especially considering it's a calculator. Fine, it supports inline C# code as function. It's a calculator that can take C# code. There's probably some nice features in it. But the first thing that struck me was the UI - it was basically a bunch of Fine.
Another thing that's bothered me lately - I've seen a few people post the C# Programmable Calculator on their website.
Not a review, but what the author e-mailed them asking for the plug verbatim.
Are you that desperate for “content”? Oh good, another post to the counter on the side.
