Amendment to OneNote Wishlist

A few amendments to my previous wishlist.

  • I just discovered the folders, and this addresses my concerns with having multiple levels and saved notebooks. Very good.
  • If you erase words and re-write them, it creates a new ink group. It would be better that the ink group was created afterwards or at least that there's a simple way to merge two groups. The only thing I can find is “continue previous paragraph“ which doesn't give the intended effect here.

I'd also like to emphasize again that Windows Journal feels infinitely more natural than OneNote. There are definitely features that make OneNote more robust for what I want to do, but if they don't address this I will probably ditch it for Journal and write a nice management tool for simulating notebooks. The grouping issue especially is a showstopper. If you start moving text around, it gets hopelessly jumbled and is all but impossible to reconstruct.

OneNote makes working with Ink much more difficult than it needs to be, which is quite a shame because it had a lot of promise.

I was hoping it would be fixed, but now it looks like it went RTM (via Nino). Does anyone have a list of what might have changed between B2+refresh and RTM?

I'd say I'd just use Journal exclusively, but that too has problems when it comes to extensibility. I need to come to a conclusion soon though, since my classes officially start next week!

On a related note, I'd especially like to tie in the research stuff in Office 2003 into Lexis-Nexis or other law resources for my class. That would be really cool.
