"ASP.NET still supports HTML, even though XML is the one true way"
Which was then discussed a bit more by Julia (and Paschal in the comments).
Anyone else find it somewhat curious, with that being said, that the automatic formatting and design view in Visual Studio .NET make it all but impossible to produce valid XHTML? In fact, when turned on it will actually take perfectly valid XHTML and make it a non-well-formed mess.
I had read something about the XHTML schema not being available at the time VS.NET was put out, so I don't know if there is some history around this. I hadn't thought to check support in VS.NET 2003 yet, but I will when I get home.
Oh well.
