Don't know if this was spam or targeted e-mail or what, but I just got an e-mail about ActiveRefresh. Haven't checked it out yet, but it just looks like another commercial reader. Either way, it has a few interesting features, such as grouping (something that you would get for free in NewsGator) and reading of POP3.
After installing SharpReader, I thought I might actually work on a page that turns POP3 mail into a news feed, if one doesn't exist already, because it would add more immediate value to my daily reading habits than trying to start a new aggregator at this point.
I still have to figure out a scalable way to keep my read/unread and subscriptions in sync between any aggregator at work and at home. Maybe I'll write a one-off WebService or something that copies up to a webpage and a service that does the sync. It would be nice if SharpReader etc exposed events that I could tie in to.
Also - has anyone else who just started using an aggregator love it, but get a little overwhelmed by the text-heavy 3-pane interface? Sometimes I think it's a little comforting to visit the dotnetweblogs.com homepage and so on again!
