NYC .NET Developer's Group follow-up

Well, I finally made it to the NYC .NET Developer's Group meeting. I've been meaning to go for several months, and made sure I got there because I was particularly interested in this topic (developing smart clients). It was definitely worth it. Chris' presentation was excellent - it's something I thought we should explore more at work, and after hearing his thoughts I'm definitely going to explore it more. I got there a bit late and had to run out at the end, though, so I unfortunately didn't really get a chance to chat with him (or anyone, for that matter).

I wasn't able to record the meeting tonight for Greg, as I left my Archos Recorder home, but Chris was gracious enough to share the slides from the presentation. I was just about to post the link, but it seems Samer beat me to it!

As Samer also mentioned, the quality of presenters is quite impressive - Carl Franklin and Jeffrey Richter are both scheduled for upcoming meetings. Only thing is, Jeffrey is speaking on September 11th, which also happens to be the day before my birthday, and somehow I really doubt I'm going to go to be in the mood to hear about the CLR then.

Though, Samer, I have to say I'm a little disappointed we didn't get a chance to chat - I normally read your blog, but I somehow missed your post earlier this week. Do you know if any other bloggers were there? Where were you sitting? (I was in the back row on the left).

I defintely plan on attending regularly going forward. I'd love to continue any overflow discussions over a drink some time - perhaps when the weather isn't quite so bad.

And anyone else in the NYC Metropolitan area, I definitely encourage you to attend as well!
