As one of Sam's readers has pointed out (in the comments), I mistakenly accredited the excellent Programming Windows Security to Jeff Brown. It was, of course, not Jeff but Keith Brown who wrote it.
I guess it was a Freudian slip, as one of our VPs of Security is Jeff Brown.
